Chapter 8: Mathieu Nardin

For this eighth episode, Géraldine Archambault meets perfumer Mathieu Nardin, senior perfumer at Mane, the creator of Osmanthus Absolu, the twelfth Essential Parfums fragrance co-signed with Skins. Mathieu chose to record the episode in a fascinating venue, tucked away in the heart of Paris. A place where time seems almost suspended. In large antique display cases, thousands of plants from all over the world: roots, seeds, dried flowers, bark, resins… some of which have been preserved here for over a century. We are at the François-Tillequin Museum, at the Paris Faculty of Pharmacy. A museum dedicated to natural materials used in medicine… and which, for a perfumer, is almost like a treasure trove of scents.
